commissions

please get in touch to talk about your project and dyeing/printing requirements. to do a commission i need an opportunity to sample a reasonable size of the material/yarn – at least half a metre or 100g and i would retain a small section for my records afterwards.

to obtain best results, i needed to know the fabric content for dye-bath temperature, curing and additives.

because of the restrictions of my equipment, i can work with a maximum of 3m material on a run of 150 cm wide, dependent on the weight/type of material.

the work is hand-dyed and hand printed, washed with care and line-dried, prior to despatch, so completion of the work is dependent upon the elements and other dye availability. so i require a reasonable time in which to complete the work. ironing is an additional cost.

work is priced on weight, plus labour, preparation time, screens/artwork, dyeing, printing, post-wash, drying and packing. (prep includes pre-washing, scouring and setting up.) often it’s difficult to price a commission exactly, prior to seeing precisely what’s involved, particularly the time element. delivery is additional cost.
