‘I was lucky to spend two days with a lovely BBC Bristol crew and presenter Anita Rani, filming for the Countryfile Autumn tv special. I spent a great day at the beautiful Sharpham Park Estate, home of Roger Saul (founder of Mulberry handbags) as they started their first ever commercial walnut harvest. I got to collect loads of walnut husks to use as dye in my winter collection of sustainable textile products and also to make my special walnut w/inc™ – an organic and natural brown ink.
The great thing is that the nuts are still there to eat – i just take the waste!’
‘Day two and we filmed in my workshop in Cardiff. I made my walnut w/inc™, we dyed recycled parachutes, screen printed a walnut tree and Anita had a go at writing with the walnut ink and a quill. The response to the program has been amazing – loads of lovely comments, lots of interest in my work and some special orders.‘
